As rain fell among them, Raven couldn't help but wonder about a lot of things. Her gaze traveled back to her father and then forward as the pack headed further towards their destination. Though most would have stayed back when rain fell, but not them. Rain gave them hope and courage, also life. Plus there was no stopping Kiba on his journey. Raven mentally laughed to herself. Watching as her father managed to keep up with the free-spirited fully grown pup. She was happy and so was he. Everyone was happy. But she couldn't help but wonder about something. There seemed to be something missing here. She couldn't quite place her paw on it, but something was out of place. Not entirely something bad, but something good. She blinked slightly as Hige trailed a little behind. Rolling her eyes as the fat wolf's stomach grumbled for food. Tsume gave a stern glare to the fat wolf. “Keep your comments to yourself porky.” As of now the wolves traveled in their normal forms, having no fear of humans. For they roamed the open range and the weather was to bad for humans, but quite right for a measly wolf. Kiba headed on, determined to get moving. Only hoping to find paradise and that was his only goal. He cared for his pack and that he had a goal. He felt he was liable to protect his pack. But they had lost the trail of the maiden. Having losing her after trying to find her and Toboe after his disappearance. But for some reason he was yet glad to have Toboe and his daughter on the crew. Though he couldn't help but feel a drag. But all and all, everyone was here and they were off. Tsume eyeballed Hige and then glared at Toboe's bratty daughter. He couldn't believe Toboe was with her the whole time. Sure he had heard the sad story. But if Hige hadn't left Toboe, none of this would have happened. Rotten luck they had. But it all seemed everything was going smoothly. He snorted and bolted on. Hige grumbled for food, yelping slightly as Tsume was being mean to him again. He rolled his eyes and turned his gaze among the lovely ebony female. His mind drooled over her and his hormones secreted over her. He gulped and pulled himself together as he ran after the pack. But he couldn't help but notice the changes that occurred. Toboe was no longer a kid and had grown so much since his missing date. And Raven had grown as well since she had been with them. He couldn't help himself to notice the beauty of Toboe's only existing family and child. Toboe loved being back with his friends. But he only wished Hige hadn't abandon him that day. He wouldn't have gone through all that mess and he would have never suffered the sad endless story of his life. But deep down inside, he seemed glad. He still had his lovely daughter and he was going to keep it that way. Raven is his life and he will protect her on end. The whole crew agreed to that and were willing to help him keep the little troublemaker out of trouble. On end, she exactly reminds him of well, him. He grinned at that and shoved it aside for mental notes. She was everything he used to be when he had started his journey with Kiba, Tsume, and Hige. From the very first start he had met Tsume. He smiled at this and continued on. As the pack began to enter a new town, they suddenly took to their human forms. Blending in with the human race once more. But to the town, they were strangers. They gulped at this and kept going. Kiba and Tsume lead, not being afraid of these low-lives. Hige followed along with Raven and Toboe. Raven slowly taking up to Kiba's side as she gleamed happily at the view. The humans of the town eyed them down slightly. “Geez they sure are welcoming...” Raven retarded as she took notice to the rude behavior of these morons. “Raven be quiet.” Toboe shushed his daughter, jumping back slightly as a few humans stepped into their paths. They stopped, Raven peering over Kiba's side and glaring at the ring leader. “What do you want you mangy outsiders?” The ring leader spoke. Kiba didn't response. “Look here we are merely passing through. Just leave us be and allow us to pass.” Raven answered to them, her eyes widening as they looked at her funny with their stupid sly grins. She didn't like the looks of this and quickly pulled away, back to back with Kiba. Kiba half-glanced to her before back to the men. “Geez they act like they've never seen a girl before.” Hige questioned. “They probably haven't Hige.” Tsume answered with that. “Well well, we could strike up a little deal. If you go to our amends, we might let you pass. I mean it's rarely strangers come to our town, espically females.” The ring leader grinned deviously. Raven cringed at this, afraid a little Toboe eyed her sternly before Raven glared at him. Kiba could sense the fear of the she-wolf. He snorted and shook his head. “No deal, there's no way I'll allow you bastards to ruin a good soul.” He growled through gritted fangs. The Ring Leader shrugged and advanced towards them. His crew following with their guns raised. “Your fault.” He answered as they charged at them. Kiba and the gang manage to dodge their attacks, but only got separated. One of the men caught Raven by the arm with result of her turning around to defend herself. She bit his hand and turned to escaped, but he sent a bullet through her arm. She cringed in pain and fell to the earth on her knees. Toboe barely saw this and feared for his daughter's life. The crowd moved in and pulled the wolves apart. “I'll get her! You guys move out and we'll meet up later!” Kiba yelled as he bolted through the crowd. Raven grit her fangs as she tried to pull away the pain. She yelped as one of the men grabbed her. She didn't have much of strength left. It was all much of a blur to her as she fainted. She could barely remember anything as she woke up. Smelling the familiar fur of the white wolf she had come to adore. She blinked and realized she was in her normal form, a wolf. She half-glanced to Kiba as she laid on his back. She looked to her arm and sighed. “So it was not a dream...” She spoke with a sadden tone. “No I'm afraid not.” Kiba answered as he padded along. “Where's Father and Hige and Tsume?” She questioned, quite curious of where everyone were. “We will meet up with them later.” Kiba answered once more. She nodded and heaved a sigh once more. Laying there as she soon fainted once more. Not able to take any more pressure. Raven woke up several hours later as darkness arose. She woke in a small dense cave, tilting her head as she realized she and Kiba were in their human forms. She shook her head and rubbed her head, but cringed in pain as she realized she was still wounded. “Be careful, it's still healing.” She jerked her head towards Kiba as he spoke to her. “Thanks..” She mumbled under her breath and leaned against the cave. “I suppose we can talk a little while we wait for the others...” She managed to say. Kiba said nothing in return. She sighed and shook her head. What was she expecting? He wasn't going to talk, fine she was going to do the talking. “I never knew I would know anyone besides my father. I suppose that's what I get. The only ones I knew were my family and none the less. When something occur, it came down to only knowing my father.” She shook her head and half-glanced to Kiba. It seemed the white wolf was actually listening. She smirked and went on. “But I guess after meeting you guys, it was a whole different story. When I first met you guys, I thought it only meant trouble. But what did I know.” She chuckled at this. “I tried everything to get away from you guys. Tried all my might to keep my father away from you and you away from my father. But I suppose that did not work. Funny thing is, you guys kinda grew on me. After coming along this trip, it has taught many things.” She paused. “I see...” Was all Kiba had said. Raven shook her head, it was hopeless, but she still managed to go on. “There's more to this world then meets the eye and I'm kinda getting of the hang of it of course. But it's really funny actually.” She smiled slightly and then raised a brow in question. “Truth is Raven, when we first met you, I thought you were just a waste. But after getting to know you, I kinda got a little attached to you..” Kiba chuckled and shook his head as he spoke to the black she-wolf. “But I must admit, after traveling with us, you have grown a lot since then.” He winked slightly. Raven chuckled and managed to pull herself up beside Kiba. Half-leaning against him for support. Kiba blinked in surprise and smiled, wrapping an arm around her waist. Raven was shocked at this, but allowed it to happen. She couldn't help but feel a passion towards Kiba. She adored him and maybe even loved him. She looked up to him as they stared eye to eye together. Kiba's heart leaped out of place. Was he feeling emotions towards this female? He smiled and allowed these feelings to overwhelm him. Slowly he leaned down a little and took the side of Raven's cheek and pulled her a little to him. Raven questioned by this, but allowed it. Kiba's lips gently touched her own and shared a deep passionate kiss. Raven's eyes widen, but leaned into the kiss, once more allowing this. For several moments, they both held their kiss. After a moment, Kiba pulled away from her and pulled her a bit closer to him. He laid his head against the cave wall. Raven smiled and snuggled to him, laying her head slightly on his side before sneaking into his lap. Pressing her back against his chest and looking half-way up at him. Kiba smiled at this and wrapped his arms around her. Raven placed her hands around his arms and snuggled into them. She seemed happy, but what would everyone think? Maybe they shouldn't allow such things to ruin their lives. Kiba's eyes slowly closed as the male took to a restless slumber. Raven had fallen asleep way before, glad Kiba had watched over her. -To Be Continued- |
